This visit is a minimum of two hours and is free for all public schools and community centers. Generally these materials do not go home with the children they are used over and over again in the classroom, giving the materials a good, long life. The children will gather around to discover, experiment, collaborate and play with their new materials. Once all groups of children from a classroom have shopped, the Materials Educators will join teachers and children back in the classroom where the collected items from the Trailer will be spread out onto a fabric circle that we provide. One teacher from the participating classroom can also choose five pounds of free materials. Small groups of children shop at a time and each child selects five items to be permanently added to the classroom collection.
